In the legal battle between former Tech football coach Mike Leach and Texas Tech, Dicky Grigg, an attorney for the University speaks out on post-game video posted on YouTube. In the video, Leach addressed players after the Baylor and Kansas games this past season.
Leach's attorney, Ted Liggett commented Friday on the video, saying Chancellor Kent Hance congratulated Leach at Cowboys stadium. Liggett said Hance told Leach "that was the best post-game speech he'd ever heard and sometimes you have to go West Texas to motivate these kids."
On Saturday, Grigg said that statement is false. According to Grigg, Chancellor Hance did not tell Coach Leach that it was an excellent speech. He says Hance told Coach Leach that he felt that it was inappropriate.
Attorneys for Leach stand by their original statement.
